Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. It was originally meant to help deepen understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life. These days, meditation is commonly used for relaxation and stress reduction.
Because an overload of continuous or worried thoughts often contributes to stress, focusing your mind in a specific way during meditation helps to ease the stream of racing thoughts that may be crowding and cluttering your mind. It helps to clear away the information overload that builds every day.

The aim of meditation is to open the heart and relieve the chattering mind of its worries and fears. Through daily meditation we can gain clarity and confidence. We can also develop a more loving and compassionate nature to forgive, let go, and find peace within ourselves. When we tap into our own purer and higher energies we can align with the Source to cleanse, heal, renew, and grow,
Once you are meditating on a daily basis, your experience of the life within you and the world around you will become richer. Meditation relaxes the entire brain, including the amygdala, which is the emotional center of the brain. As a result, daily meditation practice can also improve health, energy and vitality, enhance mental focus and memory and clarity while reducing stress and establishing a deep sense of peace and inner balance.
"I CAN'T TURN OFF MY MIND!"
When you are just starting off meditating don't judge your meditation skills, which may only increase your stress! Meditation takes practice.
Don’t quit after just one or two attempts because you weren’t able to quiet your mind. Many people stop too soon saying they “just can’t meditate”. Meditation is the practice of teaching your mind to focus. It can feel like a daunting task at first, but it’s a process that gets easier each time you do it. So don’t give up and be kind to yourself during the process!
Know that it's common for thoughts to come in during meditation. That’s fine! When you notice you have thoughts, just bring your attention back to what you are focusing on. Even if you have to do that 1,000 times. It’s fine! That is the process of meditation.
